Dear Roger,

Yes, you can.
With Tradecision Strategy Builder, you can create a workable trading strategy and then historically test it to see how it works.

Prior to helping you effectively use your trading account, Tradecision will secure you against the perils of real trading by performing a precise and realistic trading simulation.

Simulations Manager allows you to realistically simulate your strategy on one or several stocks simultaneously. Once your strategy is simulated, you can analyze it strategy using buy/sell signals placed on a chart.

The Strategy Performance Report will provide detailed information on the profitability of the strategy, risks involved, results of time analysis, and more.

Additionally, you can receive the Trades report, providing more than 10 ratios for each of your trades as well as the Equity and Drawdown curves.

Any flaws of your trading system you have detected can be corrected. The strategy can then be tested over again until you feel confident in using it for making your future trading decisions.

Sincerely,
Tradecision Support Team

I bought your software a few nights ago - what I would like to do is back testing . I would like to be able to add many stock symbols and back test their performance assuming I bought in a certain in the past and see the results.

IMPORTANT - I need to be able to account in my analysis REINVESTMENT OF ALL DIVIDENDS in the past (as well as splits, etc).

WIll something show me my return on a stock by stock basis, as well as grouping many stocks together? And will it show how many shares if each stock I would currently have today in this back testing?

Let me know how to do this. please provide instructions. Would loading information from yahoo be the best way?

Dear tradesman,

For Yahoo symbols you can use the Splits & Distribution option:

To do back testing, you need to use Strategy Builder and Simulation Manager (find both in the Tools menu). The idea is simple: you select a strategy or create a custom strategy (Strategy Builder) and run in against many symbols (Simulation Manager).

The first step is to add symbols in Data Manager. Hopefully, you have watched the Adding a Group of Symbols to Data Manager video at http://www.tradecision.com/product/videos.htm. Also you can see videos on Strategy Builder and Simulation Manager.

Please don’t overlook the Help System (F1). We have worked diligently to make it almost as much as a tutorial as it is a help file system.

If any questions, please feel free to get in touch.

Sincerely,
Tradecision Support Team
